Inspiral Carpets

Inspiral Carpets are an alternative rock band from Oldham in Greater Manchester, England that was formed by musicians Graham Lambert and Stephen Holt in 1983.〔Thompson, Dave (2000) ''Alternative Rock'', Miller Freeman, ISBN 0-87930-607-6, p.425-427〕 Their sound is characterised by psychedelic influences such as organ playing and distorted guitars. The group both preceded and was a part of the late 1980s and early 1990s alternative dance/indie rock movement.
